Abstract

This article presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) focused on the research that was done around the concept of Laboratory as a Service (LaaS). We have analyzed all the papers that are currently available and related to this topic, classifying the objective and scope of each article as well as the technologies used at the software and hardware level. For this review, we take into account three indexing databases and after filtering the unrelated and repeated studies we selected 30 research papers as the basis of the study. We found that there is currently a large amount of work on this technology, that can be used to develop remote or virtual laboratories in different areas for engineering education. However, there is no continuity between the investigations carried out by different authors.
