Abstract

© 2018 IEEE. In the following work, we are going to present the guidelines on the theoretical-methodological proposal that we did to produce a new study of the epic poem Iliad. This proposal results from joining the affective rhetoric developed by Aristotle and the tensive schemes provided by the semiotic of passions. Moreover, despite the fact that this framework of analysis has been made to answer the question 'Is Achilles really arrogant?', we consider that his use might be extended to the rest of the books of the ancient Greco-Roman literature, and likewise it could produce interesting re-readings of the classics through the light of the rhetorical-semiotic study of passions.
