Abstract

Currently, 94 families of flowering plants, 239 genera, and 450 species are known from forest or scrub vegetation found from 2600-3600 m. The most diverse familieis are Asteraceae, Melastomataceae, Ericaceae, Solanaceae, and Scrophulariaceae. The most diverse monocotyledonean families are Orchidaceae, Poaceae, and Cyperaceae. Herbs have the most species, followed by shrubs and trees. -from Authors
