Abstract

The Cuscutaceae are represented in Peru by 19 species in the genus Cuscuta (Brako & Zarucchi, 1993), all of them herbs. Here we recognize seven endemic species, in need of taxonomic revision and additional plant collection; therefore, we did not apply IUCN categories and criteria. These endemic taxa grow mainly in the Mesoandean region, below 3200 m elevation. Apparently, only one species of endemic Cuscutaceae has been recorded in Peru's protected areas system.
