N2 - Cyphocharax derhami, new species, is described from two localities in the northeastern portion of Peru. This species can be distinguished from its congeners by a combination of morphometric, meristic, and pigmentary features, most obviously the distinct bar of dark pigmentation extending posteroventrally from the rear of the orbit to the posterior margin of the opercle.
