Abstract

The article studies lgbtq-themed children’s stories in Peru: ¿Camila tiene dos mamas? (2015) by Verónica Ferrari, El príncipe Carolina (2017), Dorita y el dragón (2017), and Claudio el tritón (2019) by Lakita (Blanca Canessa). We are interested in analyzing the representations that these texts present about the lgbtq oriented characters and, in addition, determining the specific problems that these texts address in the stories that are narrated along them. Also, our purpose is to examine what are the solutions suggested to these problems. The point of view that guides this reading is that these texts, despite being great contributions to the visibility of the lgbtq issue, are not exempt from some ideological contradictions, which, to a certain extent, makes questionable some of their proposals. This article is the first academic text that addresses this type of literary production in Peru.
