Hemolytic streptococci in supramammary lymph nodes from healthy pigs from the Peruvian jungle

Abstract

Hemolytic streptococci were isolated from 53 per cent (18) supramammary lymph nodes from healthy adult pigs raised in the Peruvian jungle. The isolates were identified as Streptococcus zooepidemicus, Streptococcus infrequens, Streptococcus faecalis and Groups P and S. The possible significance of the findings is discussed.
