Abstract
Peru is a country that must constantly face the passage of various and recurring natural phenomena. One of those phenomena is the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO), which is global in scope and has a strong impact on the Andean space. In this sense, this research seeks to understand how the city of Lima, through the council, kept its infrastructure in place during the occurrence of El Niño phenomena between the years 1700 to 1720? For this purpose, the concept of urban resilience is used to analyze the actions that the inhabitants of the city of Lima carried out in the face of the danger of the destruction of important hydraulic infrastructure such as cutwaters, ditches, pools and the stone bridge during the occurrence of The El Niño Southern Oscillation between the years 1700 to 1720.
