Abstract

© 2016 Check List and Authors. Sturnira bakeri was recently described from southwestern Ecuador near the Peruvian border and was suggested to occur also in Peru. To confirm this hypothesis we present a morphological and morphometric revision of specimens of Sturnira collected from northwestern Peru. As result, we report the presence of S. bakeri from Peru and extend its distribution range southwestward by at least 32.3 km from previous occurrences, and we suggest that S. luisi is apparently absent from Peru. We also found evidence of sexual size dimorphism in S. bakeri.
