Abstract

All rights reserved. We describe and illustrate Nototriche carabayensis (Malvaceae), a new species from the high Andes of southern Peru. Nototriche carabayensis is related to N. cupuliforme, N. antoniana and N. peruviana by having a crown like structure at the base of the staminal tube, but differs by its white corolla with wine- red veins, the nectaries deltoid and 11 stigmas. A description, illustration, photos of the new species, and a key to the Peruvian species with crown are provided.
