Abstract

The probable route of penetration of the larvae of Paragonimus peruvianus was studied in 4 rats and 3 cats, by the Evans blue method. The highest portions of the digestive tract (esophagus and stomach) were proved to be the route used by the larvae. The absence of cyst membrane in the Paragonimus peruvianus larvae, and their resistance to gastric juice, possibly explain the behavior of these larvae.
