Abstract

The objective of the research was to establish the relationship between the management of community security and crime. For this, an investigation was carried out at a fundamental and correlational level; the quantitative approach was used, with a non-experimental design, with a transverse temporal scope; The study population was made up of all the residents of the district of San Martin de Porres (Lima), which has a total of 759, 561 inhabitants. The sample was chosen by random sampling, the instruments were implemented mainly through the Google Format application. Since the responses were on an ordinal scale, Spearman's correlation statistic was used to perform statistical inference from the collected data. Through descriptive analysis, it was determined that high levels of crime are perceived to be associated with low levels of community safety management; Through inferential analysis, it was determined that there is an inverse correlation between community safety management and crime, which implies that the better the community safety management, the lower the crime rates.
