Abstract

In addition to longshore winds along the Peruvian coast, other effects influence and possibly suppress the upwelling process. Among these are local atmospheric pressure variations, coastal topography, trapped coastal (internal) waves, etc. A finite difference model has been modified to apply to the upwelling situation off the Peruvian coast.
