Resumen

The present study aims to identify the predictive relationships between the mathematics test anxiety, math study anxiety and academic mathematics performance in pre-university students. The participants were 61 pre-university students candidates to the engineering careers (28 men (45.9%) and 33 women (54.1%)) between 15 and 26 years old (M_age=17.mathrmS2, SD =1.76). One concludes that the mathematics test anxiety level is higher in women (Mean =4.30, p<.01) that in men (Mean =3.27, p<.01). Then, to men, the analysis of simple lineal regressions shows that the mathematics test anxiety predicts the math study anxiety (beta=-.55, plt 01). And to women, the analysis of multiple lineal regressions shows that the mathematics test anxiety predicts negatively the academic mathematics performance (beta=-.54, mathrmplt.05), but math study anxiety does not predict the academic performance mathematics (beta=-.39, mathrmpgt.05).
