The research was intended as a fundamental purpose to explain the benefits of using Harmonic Mind Maps (HMM) as a teaching strategy in the understanding and production of narrative texts in university students. For this, it was worked with the undergraduate students of the Faculty of Education of the UNMSM during the I semester of 2018. The HMM are based on cognitive and constructivist bases, and some postulates of the pragmatics and the Reception Theory. The methodology used was within the quasi-experimental design. The collection of information was through adapting PISA Tests 2015 and Proesc 2002. The work concluded that HMMs significantly influence the understanding and production of narrative texts in university students.
