Resumen
Alphabets are instruments for codifying writing. Their creation generally depends on the linguistic policies of the state or the academic criteria of language professionals. Linguists are those who put forward their proposals based on their conception of linguistic reality. Alphabets are approached under a series of ideologies, that is to say, by determined ways of thinking or reasoning. The aim of this paper is to analyze the linguistic ideologies on the standardization of alphabets in Peru. For this purpose, a number of documents formulated by the State, supported by academic opinion, are studied. In the analysis, five ideologies about alphabets have been identified. In light of the results obtained, the paper concludes that linguistic ideologies about alphabets affect the conception and decision making of linguistic standardization.
