'My Teacher Intimidates Me': Teaching Motivational Style and its Effects in Students of the Initial Education Career

Resumen

The present investigation has for an object to identify the predictive relation between the intimidator style motivational of the teachers with the basic needs psychological (competence, relation and autonomy) in the students of the initial education career of a Peruvian private university. The sample was 56 students (women = 100%). The sample were between the 18 to 34 years old (MeanAge =22.36, SD=3.938). The results showed, the intimidator style motivational negatively predict the relation need (\beta=-. 38,\ p <. 01) and negatively predicted the autonomy need (\beta=-.48,\ p <. 001). Then competence need predicts relation need (\beta=.57,\ p < 001) and predicted autonomy need (\beta=.59,\ p <. 001). And finally, relation need predicted autonomy need (\beta=.23,p <. 01).
