Introduction: the Participant Role Questionnaire is an instrument that evaluates the roles associated to bullying as a social process, but there is not yet an adapted version for use in Peruvian adolescents. Objective: to adapt and to validate the Participant Role Questionnaire in Spanish for use in Peru. Methods: instrumental research in which expert judges were consulted to validate the representativeness of items, using the Aiken´s V as empirical measure with confidence intervals. Similarly, the adaptation of items was focused on the use of the language in order to maximize the understanding by the potential adolescents to be evaluated. Results: favorable evidence in the content validity was obtained; some other items were included in addition to improving the clarification, the understanding, the accuracy and the form of this instrument. Conclusions: the version developed in the present study of the Participant Role Questionnaire shows positive indicators to continue with the empirical studies.
