Prototype of an Automated Microclimate Chamber for Biomaterial Test Processes

Resumen

In the biotechnology area, specialists require equipment with specific characteristics in order to carry out their experiments on biological materials, especially under different real climatic conditions in certain regions or situations. This paper consists of designing and building a camera that emulates various climatic conditions, mainly Peruvian microclimates such as arid subtropical, cold semi-dry and very humid tropical forest. For this, elements such as the Peltier module are used to generate the temperature variability, the ultrasonic humidifier module for the humidity variability, among others. Control is carried out by an Arduino Mega microcontroller device and monitoring and supervision is done through LabView software. The prototype obtained has been applied to validate the climatic effect in a biomaterial developed in the laboratory for sealing cracks in construction materials, such as concrete.
