Resumen

© 2018 mcFarland & Company, Inc. The ontological basis of intellectual freedom is a paramount factor for a full understanding as a principle or fundamental value. Intellectual freedom performs in two dimensions: first, as a legal principle stemming from a component of information rights whose conception starts from the universal Declaration of Human Rights and, second, as an ethical principle located in the infosphere which is an informational environment articulated by luciano Floridi. The exercise of intellectual freedom requires three constituent elements: the state through legislation, plans, and programs; professional associations involved in the defense of members with regard to intellectual freedom and academic background; intellectual freedom teaching courses.
